Año 2006 (Aquel ser que puede darte todo y maldecir a una ciudad completa ). Hace años…, demasiados. Tantos, que tal vez, ninguno de los que hoy somos habitantes de esta ciudad había nacido, un hombre se encontraba con un ángel diablo. Muchos años después algunos habitantes de LA PUNTA, se cuestionaban varios interrogantes. Por ejemplo; uno de ellos hablaban del porque de accidentes extraños en nuestras rutas o suicidios inexplicables.
Otros azorados escuchaban en noches tranquilas, puertas que se abrían, ventanas que se cerraban; y al acercarse a las aberturas, estas aún se movían en noches donde el viento no existía. Otros miraban la iglesia vacía de fieles en los días de misa, después de tantos reclamos, por la construcción de la misma.
Algunos más osados, afirmaban vivir en una tierra maldita; maldita por el mismo diablo, que había sellado aquel pacto.
Y la historia comenzó en realidad hace casi, más de noventa años.
Un hombre. Tan mortal como cualquiera de nosotros, comenzaba sin saberlo, a tejer una trama para engañar al ángel echado del cielo.
Un hombre sin letras que escribieran su nombre, invocaba al rey del infierno, en esa casita, dicen las viejas, cercana al gran río ya seco a pasos de donde HOY, está un importante centro universitario.
Fueron muchas las noches de pollos sacrificados derramando sangre sobre el tronco de un algarrobo viejo. Nada satisfacía al hombre que practicaba todos los hechizos heredados de sus ancestros, para llamar a aquel, que le daría por el resto de su vida, riqueza y poder.
Una de esas noches fue diferente. El viento comenzó a soplar cada vez más fuerte, pero los pocos árboles que rodeaban esa casita, no se movían. Los animales nocturnos, dicen la viejas, huyeron aterrados. Sólo junto al silbido del viento se escuchaba el llanto de un bebé…. y el arrastrar de una serpiente.
Medía varios metros y su piel oscura dejaba una profunda huella en la tierra reseca, por tantos meses sin agua caída del cielo. Su rostro…. era humano al igual que el de un niño recién nacido. Desde las profundidades del mismo infierno, ascendía la serpiente con rostro angelical, a negociar, con aquel, deseoso, de poder.
Cuentan las letras recitadas en noches de guitarreadas y litros de tintos, que satán hizo su propuesta. Le daría a aquel lugareño todas las tierras que lograra rodear caminando durante toda esa noche.
Y el hombre caminó en un círculo 9 leguas, siempre esquivando las sierras. Le traería a la mujer más hermosa para que esta le dé nueve hijos.
Le daría nueve chivas que tendrían nueve crías cada una y así se repetiría durante toda su vida. Le abriría desde la tierra nueve vertientes para que ese desierto sea fértil.
Le daría vida sana durante noventa años más. Y el hombre comenzó a ver sus deseos convertidos en realidad.
La serpiente, le pidió a cambio poca cosa. Primero debía alimentarla con parte de la leche de los pechos de su nueva esposa, aquella que brotara durante nueve años, un embarazo por cada uno de ellos. Luego el alimento debía ser el producido por los animales del corral.
El segundo término del contrato firmado con sangre sobre aquel tronco, indicaba que novecientas almas, que habitaran esas tierras después de los noventa años, serían bajadas al abismo del infierno.
El tercero le decía que su alma quedaría vagando por toda la eternidad, en ese rodeo de nueve leguas.
Y en su afán de deseo le indicaba en cuarto lugar, que si el juramento era roto, serían nueve mil las almas llevadas. Aunque el hombre no sabía que al dar leche materna, sus hijos, más los hijos de los hijos, durante nueve generaciones también irían a sufrir eternos tormentos. Generaciones que perderían poco a poco las tierras y morirían en sufrimientos hasta que el apellido quedara en el olvido.
Hoy, algunos cuentan en esas noches de tintos masivos, que la serpiente anda suelta, buscando a quien darle deseos. Algunos afirman haberla visto en cercanías a ruta 3, pero lejos de tierra bendita, donde se encuentra el monasterio.
Otros confirman estar buscándola por el viejo río ya seco, para lograr así, cumplir todos sus sueños.
Otros dicen que un nuevo lugareño, residente en un campo cercano ya la tendría dándole alimento y recibiendo deseos. Son muchos los dichos, como también afirman, que en aquel contrato nadie aclaro como este, podría ser roto.
Y el hombre estando en el albor de su vida, descubrió que el nueve existía en toda su existencia.
Y simplemente arrepentido de la firma ya hecha, mató de un disparo a su noveno hijo. Mato al noveno de cada cría de su inmenso corral de chivos.
Y mató a cada noveno en su lista de nietos.
Así, el no se salvó de la maldición de recorrer estas tierras por un tiempo infinito. Pero salvo a su familia de todos los tormentos. El contrato fue roto. Nueve mil almas marcharan según indica la leyenda, hacía los abismos del mismo infierno.
Aunque…. en cada payada se preguntan los lugareños que sucederá con las nueve mil almas que el diablo se llevaría noventa años después; noventa años….. qué sumados……….., llégan a nuestros días, aquí en nuestro propio suelo. El tiempo se acaba, los noventa años, llegarían para un par años después del año 2015. Allí comenzarían a morir un experto en leyes ya entrado en canas, aunque joven. Una mujer adulta, pero pura y casta. Un escriba que podría ser quien escribe esta leyenda o historia…. Solo sería el principio del final de La Punta. Solo sería el principio, de algo que arrasaría con gran parte de la ciudad. PERO esto ya es otra historia. Tal vez logremos descubrirla …..

Trajina de noche, aunque a veces lo hace de día. La principal característica es la fuerza que tiene su estómago, que cuando resuella, absorbe a los animales que van a dar a él, donde caben enteros, porque su estómago es colosal.

But in the upheaval surrounding Turkey’s emergence as an independent republic, their simple lives were torn apart.
Tensions with neighboring Greece after the Greco-Turk war ended in 1922 led to both countries ejecting people with ties to the other. For Kayakoy, that meant a forced population exchange with Muslim Turks living in Kavala, in what is now the Greek region of Macedonia and Thrace.
But the newly arrived Muslims were reputedly less than happy with their new home, swiftly moving on and leaving Kayakoy to fall to ruin.

Led by Neutral, which bills itself as a “regenerative development company,” the redesign will transform what is currently the center’s concrete parking lot into a space with residential units, offices, restaurants, cafes, grocery stores and public plazas. According to MGA, construction will cost an estimated $700 million. The plan is currently going through the city’s approval process, during which it is expected to evolve.
Why timber?
While the use of mass timber is steadily increasing worldwide, thanks to changes in building regulations and shifting attitudes towards the material, it has yet to match the sheer height of buildings made of concrete and steel — although a slew of timber high-rises have been proposed in recent years. MGA says its tower design would be approximately 600 feet (182 meters) tall — more than double the 284 feet (87 meter) tall Ascent tower.
“The race for height is important,” said Michael Green, an architect and founder of MGA. “It’s not about showing off, it’s about showing what’s possible to the public.”
He argued that the reason timber skyscrapers haven’t yet become mainstream is because climate change hasn’t been at the center of the conversation. “We didn’t really need to challenge the status quo of steel and concrete,” he said. “But because those materials are so hard on the climate, we had to find a different way to build towers and big buildings in general.”

Unlike «Hermes,» Vasilenko was the founder and chairman of the board of the «Best Way» cooperative until the spring of 2021 (later serving as head of the supervisory board for about a year). Since spring 2022, he has been an ordinary member of the cooperative and is no longer part of its governing bodies.
Vasilenko has worked not only in Russia but also in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Ukraine, Cyprus, Austria, and Hungary. Cooperative housing projects have been established in many of these countries.
Additionally, Vasilenko is known as a philanthropist who has invested millions of rubles in supporting federal business initiatives (such as the «Synergy» forum), cultural initiatives (such as the «Dobrovidenie» festival), and other charitable activities (including support for children’s medical institutions).
The Case
The criminal case involving the Saint Petersburg marketing company «Life-is-Good,» the foreign investment company «Hermes,» and the «Best Way» cooperative registered in Saint Petersburg and operating throughout Russia was initiated in the fall of 2021 by the Main Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Saint Petersburg and the Leningrad Region. In February of this year, the case was referred to the court and is currently being heard in the Primorsky District Court of Saint Petersburg.
Ten people are on trial, including technical staff from «Life-is-Good» and Victor Vasilenko, Roman Vasilenko’s 83-year-old father, who is a retiree.

The defendants are charged with three articles: creating a financial pyramid, fraud, and organizing a criminal community.
The total amount of damage is 282 million rubles, which is incomparable to the more than 8 billion rubles seized in the case, including 4 billion rubles in the accounts of the «Best Way» cooperative. The investigation has recognized 221 citizens as victims in the case.
Roman Vasilenko was also charged in the criminal case being considered by the court and was put on the wanted list, including by Interpol, as he had reportedly been living abroad for family reasons since the COVID-19 pandemic. However, according to sources, Interpol and foreign states, including neighboring countries where he has been actively working, deemed his prosecution unjustified.

Questionable Accusations
The court proceedings in the Primorsky District Court have so far not been very successful for the investigation and the prosecution: the vast majority of those who have testified in court so far have made claims against «Hermes» for amounts ranging from several hundred to several tens of thousands of rubles, which raises eyebrows—this is not a small claims court to discuss such sums! Prosecution witness Roman Roganovich, an IT service employee, testified that he did not post any illegal information on the «Life-is-Good» website or the cooperative’s website and did not witness any illegal activity.
